Dean's Welcome
Welcome to the College of Engineering, Architecture and Computer Sciences (CEACS) website at Howard University. Our motto is "We Give Our Students the World by Design." All programs offered in the CEACS are “designed” to educate, challenge and inspire our students, so that they are prepared to develop and execute innovative, technological advances that benefit America and the Global Community. Students are encouraged to participate in the academic, social and cultural aspects of the University experience through their involvement in research programs, national competitions, charretts, professional organizations, international travel and community service.
Our corporate partners and alumni keep us informed of industry research and skill set needs by cultivating relationships between the students and faculty. These relationships help bridge the gap between classroom instruction and real world experiences. Our partners sponsor mentors, host jobsite tours and provide technical assistance to classroom design and research projects that promote teamwork and enhance communication skills.
You are invited to learn more about our programs, faculty and students as you explore our website features. As you navigate your way through the CEACS website, you will discover that the College is comprised of the School of Architecture and Design, which houses the Department of Architecture and the School of Engineering and Computer Science, which houses the Departments of Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems and Computer Science. All School of Engineering and Computer Science programs offer master's degrees. The Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering programs offer doctoral degrees, as well as, interdisciplinary degree programs in Atmospheric Sciences and Materials Science.
Technology has become embedded in every aspect of our lives. We take pride in educating and nurturing well-rounded engineering, architecture and computer science graduates that will excel in their chosen professions, but more importantly commit to being responsible citizens and innovative leaders for America and the Global Community.
