The Howard Experience
| Sense
of History |
History
and tradition run deep at Howard.
Many wonderful opportunities came with
integration, but over the years the lesson
of heritage has become diluted. Howard
imparts that heritage.
Early on, Howard
achieved widespread recognition as a
university committed to educating newly
emancipated slaves and their descendants.
It has played a unique role in African
American culture and life—and in the
affairs of the nation and the world. The legal scholars who worked
on the landmark case Brown
v. Board of Education conducted their
research right here on Howard's campus. »» The Long Walk |
