Professor Hart originally hails from Omaha Nebraska.  She received her BFA in acting from Howard University and her MFA in playwriting from Sarah Lawrence College.  Professor Hart has graced the stage in the Washington, DC metro area performing in Woolly Mammoth's production of The Day Room at the Kennedy Center and as understudy in Holiday Heart at Arena stage.  She has also been seen performing in The Source Theatre Festival and in Eubie and The Wiz at the Center Stage in Omaha, Nebraska.  Professor Hart has also appeared on the HBO television drama series The Wire.  She has written several screenplays and stage plays and is the past recipient of honorable mention in the 2002 and 2000 Writer’s Digest award in screenwriting and previous recipient of honorable mention in the Writer’s Digest award in playwriting, as well as the AJJPA screenwriting award.  Her son remains her creative inspiration.
