INFORMATION
Information
and applications for scholarships, student employment and other kinds of
financial aid are available in the OFFICE OF FINANCIAL AID AND STUDENT
EMPLOYMENT, Room 211, Administration Building (Johnson Hall). The following

APRIL 1 is
the deadline for filing applications requesting aid for the following academic
year. Students who file applications in the Financial Aid Office are requested
to notify the Theatre Arts Office in writing prior to the deadline date.
No scholarship aid may be awarded unless an application has been filed.
DEPARTMENT OF
THEATRE ARTS SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
Students must have completed at least ONE FULL YEAR of service to the Department
before applying for these scholarships. Further information may be obtained from
the Departmental Student Handbook.

The
scholarship process begins with the student downloading the
application
from this page. Students are to complete said application (all applications must
be typed) and submitted to their Area Coordinator. After evaluating the
application, the Area Coordinator submits the application to the Scholarship
Committee for their evaluation and recommendation
for Special
Talent and Trustee Tuition awards. They in turn, will submit the
application to the Department Chair for final approval. All applications
must be submitted by the deadline date (April 10).
Incomplete applications will not be processed.
Students applying
for departmental scholarships are evaluated on the following areas.
-
service to the Department (completion of one full year);
-
creative contributions to the Department;
-
leadership potential;
-
personal/artistic growth;
-
personal/artistic discipline;
-
demonstrated high level of proficiency in tasks undertaken;
-
successful completion of all projects;
-
demonstrated high level of participation in Departmental
activities.
ALL APPROVED APPLICATIONS ARE THEN PROCESSED BY THE OFFICE OF
FINANCIAL AID. For further information, contact the Department of Theatre Arts

Students who are not awarded departmental scholarships have the
right to appeal through a written statement of concern to the Scholarship
Committee within thirty (30) days of the start of the semester. The committee
will, in turn, review the appeal and re-evaluate the application. Within fifteen
(15) days of receipt, the appealed decision will be forwarded to the Department
Chair and student.
