THEATRE EDUCATION (131 hours)
The Theatre Education program
is intended for students who express a desire to become secondary school teachers with multiple, marketable
skills. This area of concentration combines the disciplines of theatre and education
along with the
successful completion of the practicum (student teaching) experience in
the senior year. This is an education program which trains teachers. It
stands to reason, then, that the student should make a minimum grade of
"C" in all courses and a "B" in the methods course in the discipline (Methods/Principles
of Teaching Drama).
Admission to this area
of concentration is by interview and submission of an essay only.
