Borrowing
from Other Libraries

- Interlibrary Loan - You may request the Interlibrary Loan Office in Founders Library ((2nd floor) to obtain materials not owned by the Howard libraries. Submit your request in person at the ILL Office or online.
- Faculty have direct borrowing privileges from CIRLA libraries. You also may borrow materials directly at libraries participating in the OCLC Reciprocal Faculty Borrowing Program--apply at the Ciculation desk in in Founders Library.

Course
Reserves -The
library maintains reading materials placed "On Reserve" status by the instructors. Many articles are digitized
for convenient viewing 24/7 from any computer, on-campus
or off-campus. Access to e-reserves is restricted to Howard
University current students, faculty, and staff.

Online
Request Forms - Use these forms to suggest an item
that the Library should purchase, request class instruction, send compliments, questions, or concerns. Please check STERLING
before submitting your purchase request to see if the Library
already owns the item. The Library generally does not
purchase duplicates of items in the collection. You
may also contact the Library
Specialist for your subject about your request.

Faculty
Liaisons - The Faculty Liaison program links a
representative faculty member from each academic department
with the librarian assigned as the Subject
Specialist to that department. The two parties work
together so that faculty members will know our basic services,
participate in acquisition of new materials, and use available
resources more effectively. |

Literacy. The
library instruction program is designed to introduce or
enhance the student's information literacy skills. The
hands-on sessions are conducted in the Library's Digital
Learning Classroon in Founders. The presentation may be
customized for a particular course assignment, but all
presentations emphasize principles applicable to future
information gathering needs in support of lifelong learning.
