  The Library Website -Find out how the library website is organized.
  Off-Campus Access to Restricted Databases - Access library networked resources 24/7 from off campus, inside OR outside (Verizon, ATT, Comcast, etc) HU-Net.
  Sterling - The Library's online catalog for library materials acquired since 1976. Check the Card Catalog in Founders Library for pre-1976 acquisitions.
 

Borrowing Library Materials from HU Library Collections

  Get Materials Not at HU Libraries through Interlibrary Loan or, if a graduate student, borrow directly fom a CIRLA Library
  Check Your Library Account—Online! - Please return books when due. Fines and charges apply when items are returned late.
  Course Reserves - The library maintains reading materials placed "On Reserve" status. Many articles are digitized for convenient viewing 24/7 from any computer, on-campus or off-campus. Access to e-reserves is restricted to Howard University's current students, faculty, and staff.
  Online Request Form - Use this form to suggest an item that the Library should purchase, as well as for comments, compliments, questions, or concerns. Please check STERLING before submitting your request to see if the Library already owns the item before submitting your request.
  Library Access Policy - Familiarize yourself with Library Policies regarding admission and use, borrowing materials, course reserves, remote access, library Bill of Rights, copyright, responsible computing, and filming on library premises.
  Library Help Guides
  Beyond HU Campus: Local Metro Area Resources - A great advantage of studying in Washington, DC metropolitan area are the rich information resources available to researchers at other universities, as well as federal and local government libraries, museums, and public libraries.
Sharpen Your Information Management Skills (IMS). The library's program for instruction is designed to develop or enhance the student's information literacy skills. The presentations may be customized for particular course assignments, but all presentations emphasize principles applicable to current and future information gathering needs in support of class requirements and lifelong learning. Attend your instructor's IMS classes, or sign up for a general session.
