Library helps fulfill the needs of the Health Sciences
Schools and Medical Center by providing the following:

new Central Quad and Building that creates
a Identifiable Place and Focused Image for the
Complex,
An internal Commons - as a social center for the Health Centers students,
faculty, research and clinical professionals,
Presentation/Meeting Spaces for professional development and programs of
outreach to the community,
Information and Knowledge Management Services that link multi-discipline
users with expert Information Specialists
High-tech Classrooms and Labs that enrich the curriculum (ex. Biomedical
Informatics) and provide pro-active development, training and application of
Information Technology,
Individual Workstations, Small Group Spaces and Computer Labs for individual
research & team projects,
Informatics Faculty and Library Offices for efficient and convenient collaboration,
Historical and Special Collections a prestigious center for research and
presentations related to the Universitys contribution to Medical Science
