Course Registration for First Time in College (FTIC) Students

Become Officially Registered

The first step in this journey is to become officially registered—i.e. selecting and paying for your classes. By completing the course selection process early, new students have more time to get settled and spend time with their families.

Freshman students who have been accepted for fall 2008 admission to Howard and who have paid their enrollment fee can select classes by using the web during an early registration period from July 14th through July 18th. Students who have their classes entered early will still have the opportunity to speak with advisors and modify their class schedules if necessary after they arrive on campus in August. In order to enter your classes during the early registration period, you must:

• Know your Howard ID number
• Pay the enrollment fee
• Complete the math placement examination
• Submit your completed health form

Once you have completed the items listed above, you should access the link to the school or college to which you have been admitted (as indicated on your letter of acceptance from the Office of Admission) and follow the instructions carefully. The instructions will tell you which courses to select and how to enroll in them. If you have general questions, please contact the Office of the Registrar at (202) 806-2705.

Exceptions

• Freshman students in the School of Business do not register online at this time. They will be registered manually by their academic advisor.
   
• Transfer students will have an opportunity to register when they arrive on campus in August after they meet with an academic advisor.
