Felicia M. Valdez
Ed.D., Special Education/Language Cognate (George Washington University, 1992)
Adjunct Assistant Professor
Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders

Teaches courses in learning disabilities, child language, and language development in early childhood. Her emphasis is on encouraging the doctoral students to identify the challenges facing the professionals in the field and determining what they can do to create change in the system. She worked for 20 years at Children’s Hospital Hearing and Speech Department as Director of Early Intervention, a program for children with speech/language difficulties where she developed her skills. Research interest includes inclusionary services and service approaches for mentally retarded children with speech/language challenges.
