Howard University’s Mock Trial Team Places Fourth at American Mock Trial Association Regional Tournament, Heads to Nationals

Washington D.C., Feb. 27, 2008-- The Howard University Mock Trial Team (HUMTT) placed 4th at the American Mock Trial Association’s (AMTA) Capital City Regional Tournament Feb. 23 and 24. Howard’s award-winning team competed against 20 colleges and universities. In addition to the team’s win, junior Legal Communications major Jennifer Foster and freshman Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology major Marquis H. Barnett won individual awards for their roles as witnesses.

The 4th place finish earned the 13-member team a bid to the AMTA Silver Flight National Tournament in Ohio March 7 and 8. A win at the national competition will qualify the team to compete at the AMTA National Gold Flight Tournament in Minnesota in April. The team recently placed 4 th at the Ramblin' Wreck Mock Trial Tournament at Georgia Tech University in January.
