ASSOCIATE DEAN'S MESSSAGE

The dean and the associate dean are available to discuss student concerns, whether they are academic or personal. The dean’s office, along with the four department chairs’ offices and the Annenberg Honors Program office, is the office which handles most exceptional problems of registration, withdrawals from courses or the university, personal emergencies, and complaints. When special requests are made after deadlines have expired, it is the dean’s office which generates letters of justification.

The associate dean plays the primary role in handling student problems that come to the dean’s office. The associate dean works closely with the Educational Advisory Center to assess problems and plan a course of action. When necessary, the associate dean and the advisers will submit a student request to the dean for approval.
