- Graduate Education and Faculty Development
Since its inception in 1997, HUCARC has strongly
encouraged and supported activities leading
to faculty and research career development.
Such activities included faculty training visits
to Indiana Alcohol Research Center and University
of Connecticut Alcohol Research Center, mini-sabbaticals,
and short courses on advanced techniques and
participation in RSA satellite symposia.
- Science Education and Community Outreach
The overall objective of the Science Education
Core component is to develop educational
programs which stimulate faculty and
student interest in alcohol research thereby
increasing the understanding of the role
and impact of alcohol abuse on minority populations.
- Alcohol
and Addictions Journal Club and Seminar Series
Alcohol and Addictions Journal Club and Seminar
Series is targeted to professional students
and faculty, as a means to broaden opportunities
for discussion and dialogue and to encourage
networking among the young investigators
and trainees on topics related to alcoholism
and alcohol research.
