Reginald
D. Bush
LA BA ’83 |
| Reginald
D. Reggie Doc Bush is a 1983 graduate
of the College of Liberal Arts.
He has engaged himself with the
education, social and civic concerns
of his community and with University
alumni relations for the past two
decades. As a community leader in
Ossining, Reggie has made his presence
felt county wide by his dedication
to the Board of Director for Westchester
Community Opportunity Program (WestCOP),
a countywide organization that implements
and manages social programs for
minorities from ages 3 through 93.
Reggie is also heavily involved
with Interfaith Council for Action
(IFCA), a multi-million dollar affordable
housing organization for low-income
families. In 2004, he was elected
Chairman of the Board (the first
minority to hold this title in this
organization's 38 year history).
Appointed by the Mayor of Ossining,
Reggie is a member of the Planning
and Architectural Review Boards
of Ossining.
Mr. Bush has equally been involved
in University affairs, having been
selected by the President's office
to serve on the Founders Walk Council,
a key member in the planning, implementation,
and execution of the New York City
Capital Campaign roll out at the
then new AOL/Time-Warner headquarters
with Board of Trustee member Dick

of National Vice President and Region
I Representative. He is currently
Region I Chair. Held the position
of President of the Westchester/Rockland,
NY alumni club for many years (bestowed
the honor of President Emeritus
in 2005). Mr. Bush can also be seen
countywide at college fairs talking
about alma mater and encouraging
students to apply to the Mecca as
a choice and not an alternative.
An unselfish leader not just in
his community and beyond, but for
Alma Mater too. He would be a tremendous
asset on the national platform. |
Wylie
E. Fennell
SB BBA ’91
|
| In
my over 10 years of working in non-profit
and professional organizations,
I realize that the most crucial
piece of building and sustaining
a viable organization is membership.
In order for any organization to
be successful it has to be successful
in contacting, attracting and retaining
members.
If elected National Vice President
of Membership, I will work to help
HUAA maximize technology and other
resources to effectively reach alumni
and promote HUAA. I have found through
speaking with alumni, that many
alumni simply do not know how
to contact alumni chapters in their
areas. One of my accomplishments
working with the HUAA Membership
Committee is having local chapter
information printed in the HOWARD
Magazine.
In addition, If elected I will work
to help provide value in being a
member of HUAA. I
believe that being a member of HUAA
should provide a greater number
of discounts and benefits for alumni
to take advantage of; which I believe
would also encourage membership
As president of the Howard University
Alumni Club of New York City, I
think that I am
aware of the needs of local chapters
and the issues chapters face when
it comes to membership. I will work
to make the national office a resource
for local chapters to build chapters
that can help promote Howard University
and continue our prestigious legacy.
My motto is “Our time at Howard
University was not just a 4-year
experience, It’s a lifetime
experience!” |
