An
invitation to participate in history
|
Dear
Alumni and Friends,
Each
academic
year
proves
to be
an exciting
time
for
the
University
family.
We continue
to attract
the
best
and
the
brightest
students
to the
University
and
implement
many
changes
to strengthen
our
commitment
to Leadership
for
America
and
the
Global
Community.
Several
activities
during
the
past
year
showcased
the
Universitys
environment
and
gave
alumni
and
friends
an opportunity
to observe
campus
improvements.
The
complete
restoration
of Howard
Hall
is but
one
of many
important
initiatives.
I
invite
you
to take
part
in The
Founders
Walk,
the
engraved
brick
paver
program
which
provides
the
University
family
an opportunity
to participate
in shaping
the
campus
for
future
generations.
Through
this
program,
you
can
have
your
name
or the
name
of a
loved
one
engraved
on a
brick
in the
plaza
and
walkway
which
lead
to Howard
Hall.
The
sale
of the
pavers
endows
the
development
and
maintenance
of Howard
Hall,
our
oldest
structure
and
the
home
of one
of the
Universitys
founders,
as the
National
Alumni
Center.
|
|
Please
take this
important
opportunity
to become
a living part
of the tradition
and spirit
that are uniquely
Howard University.
Your support
of this initiative
is completely
tax-deductible.
Yours
truly,
H.

Become
a part of the tradition
that is uniquely
HOWARD
UNIVERSITY
Howard
University's
Engraved
Brick Paver
Program
Howard
Hall has
been restored.
Built in
1869, it
was the
home of
one of Howard
Universitys
founders,
General
Oliver O.
Howard.
The newly
renovated
building
will become
the National
Alumni Center.
As Howard
Universitys
oldest standing
structure,
it provides
an architecturally
rich context
to showcase
the Universitys
long and
proud history.
Founders
Walk, a
pathway
leading
to Howard
Hall, will
recount
the milestones
of the Universitys
proud heritage
through
engraved
bricks which
reflect
the important
roles played
by individuals,
organizations,
and other
members
of the University
family.
This brick
paver program
is an opportunity
to honor
and celebrate
someone
who deserves
your esteem
with a gift
of immortality.
In
addition
to being
a unique
gift opportunity,
each contribution
you
make will
help endow
the legacy
of Howard
Hall for
future generations.
Engrave
a brick
for yourself.
Honor a
loved one,
a favorite
faculty
or staff
member,
or a special
memory from
your school
days. |
