As an applied behavioral science, OB is shaped by contributions from other behavioral disciplines including psychology, sociology, social sociology, anthropology, and political science.

There are two main resources (finding tools) that will assist in locating books and other items located in the University Libraries and in other libraries.

  • Annual Reviews: Social Sciences R
    Description: Abstracts and full text of commissioned papers published in 6 annual reviews journals, including: Anthropology, Energy and the Environment, Political Science, Psychology, Public Health, Sociology.
  • PsycArticles (EBSCO Support Site) R
    Description: This database provides full text articles on current issues in psychology from respected sources, spanning from 1985 to the present. PsycARTICLES includes more than 39,000 full-text articles from 53 journals published by the American Psychological Association and allied organizations. All journals included in this database are indexed in PsycINFO.
  • PsycARTICLES (OVID Support Site) R
    Description: This database searches selected book chapters and over 28,000 full-text journal articles published by the American Psychological Association and the Canadian Psychological Association. To access from the OVID homepage, click on "continue," then click on Journals@Ovid Full text. NOTE: Check the small box by PsycARTICLES if you want to limit your search to this source. Number of simultaneous logons: 999.
  • PsychInfo (EBSCO Support Site) R
    Description: PsycINFO, from the American Psychological Association, contains over two million citations and summaries of journal articles, book chapters, books and dissertations, all in the field of psychology, dating as far back as 1840. Journal coverage, which dates back to the 1800s, includes international material selected from nearly 2,000 periodicals in over 35 languages. More than 65,000 records are added each year.
  • Social Sciences FullText R
    Description: Social Sciences Full Text, produced by The H. W. Wilson Company, is a bibliographic database that indexes and abstracts articles of at least one column in length from English-language periodicals published in the United States and elsewhere plus the full text of selected periodicals. Coverage includes a wide range of interdisciplinary fields covered in a broad array of social sciences journals. Abstracting coverage begins with periodicals published in January 1994. Abstracts range from 50 to 300 words and describe the content and scope of the source articles. Full text coverage begins in January 1995.
  • SocINDEX with Full Text R Provides comprehensive coverage of sociology and related areas of study. It contains selective full text for 344 core journals, 129 priority journals, 700 books and monographs, and 6,800 conference papers.

  • America: History & Life R
    Description: English language abstracts of journal articles, articles in collections, dissertations, book and media reviews on the history and culture of the US and Canada. Number of simultaneous logons: Unlimited.
  • Annual Reviews: Social Sciences R
    Description: Abstracts and full text of commissioned papers published in 6 annual reviews journals, including: Anthropology, Energy and the Environment, Political Science, Psychology, Public Health, Sociology.
  • Columbia International Affairs Online R
    Description: A comprehensive resource for theory and research in international affairs. CIAO publishes a wide range of scholarship from 1991 on that includes working papers from university research institutes, occasional papers series from NGOs, foundation-funded research projects, and proceedings from conferences. Number of simultaneous logons: Unlimited.
  • HeinOnline: The Modern Link to Legal History R

  • Electronic Journal Service R
    Description: Search Ebscohost's gateway to thousands of e-journals by title, subject or keyword to link directly to full text articles. Number of simultaneous logons: Unlimited.
  • Emerald Fulltext Journals R Contains 35,000 articles from over 100 management journals, complete with full text archives back to 1994. Covers the major management disciplines including strategy, leadership, information management, marketing and human resource management.
  • Factiva (formerly Dow Jones Interactive) [No proxy service for remote access; user must be on campus network proper] R Provides online global news and business information from over 8,000 sources, including Dow Jones and Reuters Newswires.
  • JSTOR R
    Description: Electronic access to a comprehensive archive of articles from journals in the arts, humanities, social sciences, mathematics, ecology and botany. Number of simultaneous logons: Unlimited.
  • Lexis-Nexis Universe R Retrieve full text company news & financial information.
  • Project Muse R
    Description: Provides full text access to over 160 journals. Full text is accessible only for Johns Hopkins University Press journals; bibliographic information and abstracts are given for non JHUP publications.
  • SCIENCEDIRECT R Access to abstracts from the most frequently cited journals in the fields of science, technology, business, management, accounting and medicine, including browsable tables of contents as well as full text of journals to which the library subscribes.
  • Wiley Interscience R
    Description: A portal to the full-text content of Wiley's journal database. Covers over 300 journal titles in science, engineering, computer science, business, education, law and psychology. Number of simultaneous logons: Unlimited.
