Howard University, Department of Theatre Arts celebrates the life of a revered member of the Howard family and pioneer in the area of film, television, and theatre, Professor Albert C. Freeman, Jr. An acting career that was inspiring to many across the globe, Mr. Freeman is probably best known for his award-winning role as Elijah Mohammed in MALCOLM X, his groundbreaking role as Captain Ed Hall on the daytime drama, One Life To Live, continues to resound for being the first black actor to receive the Daytime EMMY award Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama Series for his character portrayal.
