"The Leah-Cosine Function (Preliminary Results)"
(Lecture/Discussion)

Prof. Ronald E. Mickens, Clark Atlanta University

Abstract: One way to define functions is by means of selecting particular solutions to a differential equation. Two important examples are the cosine and sine functions. We introduce the Leah-cosine function as a special solution to a nonlinear ODE and determine several of its properties. The ODE models a nonlinear oscillator having a fractional power elastic force.
