National Symphony Orchestra at Howard University's Cramton Auditorium

The community is invited to join the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) for its "NSO In Your Neighborhood" events Jan. 8 through Jan. 14. The week of events marks the centenary of the Department of Music at Howard University. During this time, 10 events will take place on campus including seven master classes, two chamber recitals and a concert by the National Symphony Orchestra at Cramton Auditorium on Jan. 14. The concert will also feature the Howard University Choir and Afro Blue. Led by NSO Music Director Christoph Eschenbach and NSO Principal Pops Conductor Steven Reineke, the National Symphony performs a full concert at Howard University. Guest artists include the Kennedy Center's Artistic Advisor for Jazz pianist Jason Moran, Sphinx violinist Elena Urioste, Howard University's jazz/pop a cappella ensemble Afro Blue, and the Howard University Choir. The program will include the Washington premiere of George Walker's Sinfonia No. 4, co-commissioned by the NSO. Part of Howard University Department of Music's Centennial Celebration.
