NCAS Undergraduate Summer Internship Program

Howard University's NOAA Center for Atmospheric Sciences (NCAS) is seeking outstanding students who are motivated for future graduate study in the physical sciences, mathematics, social, behavioral, and economic sciences, to apply for the NCAS Undergraduate Summer Internship Program. Scholars with backgrounds in mathematics, chemistry, communications, sociology, psychology, physics, meteorology, environmental sciences, and engineering are encouraged to apply.
Research Areas:
A range of areas in the atmospheric and environmental sciences from laboratory studies, modeling and data analysis, to environmental observations. Each participant's research interests and abilities will be matched with NCAS or NOAA scientists and the needs of their research programs. Students are encouraged to visit the NCAS website for descriptions of ongoing research.
Internship Benefits:
The internship offers competitive stipends for an eight-week period. In addition to the stipend, travel expenses to and from the research site, housing, and partial funding for meals, will be provided. The start date is flexible but preferably within the first two weeks in June.
