Academic Symposium: The Intellectual Legacy of Hanes Walton Jr.

Howard University will host a major academic symposium on the intellectual legacy of Dr. Hanes Walton, Jr. During his long and distinguished career, Dr. Walton helped consolidate Black Politics as a respected area of study and mentored generations of students and faculty who now populate our nations' universities and colleges.

The symposium will consist of two panels. The first will address the impact of Dr. Walton's scholarship on American politics; a second panel will discuss his legacy on African-American politics and the political science discipline at HBCUs.

The symposium is sponsored by the Offices of the President, Provost, Deans of the Political Science Department and the Ronald W. Walters Leadership and Public Policy Center. The event will be open to the general public, faculty, staff and students. For more information, call 202-806-9349 or 202-238-2495.
