Movie Screening: Tell Them We are Rising
(Special Event)

Stanley Nelson's new film "Tell Them We are Rising" examines the impact Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) have had on American history, culture, and national identity. Beginning with the earliest attempts at education to today's campuses, the 90-minute film will air nationally on the acclaimed PBS series, Independent Lens on Monday, February 19, 2018.

Howard University is featured in the film and Professor Edna Medford is also featured. WHUT the only PBS station licensed to an HBCU will be hosting the first screening in the DC market. Stanley Nelson will be attending and participating in the panel discussion following the screening.
