Screening of HOODWINKED! What Black Men Think

Epsilon Sigma Iota Legal Sorority, Incorporated along with The Journal of Negro Education will host a screening of the documentary by Janks Morton entitled, "HOODWINKED! What Black Men Think." The documentary was filmed on the Howard University campus and features Eric Lamont Hill, Dr. Steve Perry, Dr. Kawanza Kunjufu, Dr. Boyce Watkins and our own Dr. Ivory Toldson. The documentary highlights the use of statistics by special interest groups and media outlets to promote the message that the peoples of African descent are less-than, not-equal-too or not-good enough. The film's creator hopes to halt the internalization of this misinformation and mythology and assist us in furthering the reconstruction of our identities as peoples of color.

The 40-minute screening will be followed by a short panel discussion lead by our own Dr. Gregory Carr and Dr. Ivory Toldson. Students, faculty and staff are invited to attend and have their critical thinking stimulated! Lunch will be provided.
