| Student
organizations provide co-curricular outlets to socialize
with others; develop leadership skills; promote the cultural
aspects of various regional, national, or ethnic backgrounds;
promote the total educational development of the individual
through group concepts of brotherhood and sisterhood;
offer opportunities for spiritual programs; or foster
participation in a specific sport or recreational activity
intercollegiately. Howard has 144 officially recognized
