Construction will begin soon on two new residence halls along Fourth Street. The residence halls are part of Phase I of the University’s Campus Master Plan and will provide housing for 1,300 students. As a precaution, fencing will be placed around the east side of Fourth Street. Pedestrians are advised to use the west side of Fourth Street to travel both north- and southbound. The courtyard of the Bethune Annex to College Street will also be closed during the construction period, and students will be required to enter and exit at Bethune Annex’s Bryant Street doors.

For safety reasons, students, employees, and guests are urged to take extreme caution and observe all signs and barriers for the duration of construction and are not permitted inside construction fencing at any time. Construction may start as early as 7 a.m. and end as late as 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The buildings will open in fall 2014.
