Through the Department of Benefits and Pension Administration, Cigna will be providing an on-site care advocate to help employees of Howard University and Howard University Hospital understand and resolve claim-related concerns. Deana Tisdale, the care advocate representative assigned to the University, will be on campus twice a month—every first Wednesday at the University and every third Wednesday at the Hospital, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Services may include, but are not limited to: 

  1. Benefit & Eligibility Inquiries
  2. Simple Claim Adjustments
  3. Customer & Provider Outreach Calls
  4. Understanding Your Explanation of Benefits Statement
  5. Provider Searches (Finding an In-Network Provider)

Please use this opportunity to have your questions regarding your benefits answered by a Cigna representative. Appointments are strongly encouraged. To schedule an appointment, please call 202-865-3927 (Hospital) or 202-806-1232 (University).
