- “Barack Obama: The First Term” Exhibit:
The exhibit runs through Feb. 28 in the Moorland-Spingarn Gallery in Founders Library; open daily, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday-Friday. Curated by Howard Dodson, director of the Moorland-Spingarn Research Center, and presented in conjunction with the Howard University Libraries, the White House Photo Office and the Howard University Obama Inaugural Commemorative Committee. Admission to the exhibit is free.
- Gwendolyn S. and Colby I. King Lecture:
Jan. 23, 3 p.m., School of Business auditorium. Marian Wright Edelman, founder and president of the Children’s Defense Fund, will lead a discussion about problems in the American prison system. Elaine R. Jones, former president and director-counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, will facilitate the discussion.
- HUB Book signing:
Jan. 24, 5-7 p.m., Neffeteria “Neffe” Pugh (sister of R&B singer Keyshia Cole) will host a signing for her book Price I Paid.
