Monday, September 29– Friday, October 3rd, 2008

Career Fest

  • Monday, September 29, 2008, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM – Upper Quadrangle.  This in a highly visible event hosted on the upper quadrangle (“The Yard”) to launch the week.  There will be an opportunity for a limited number of employers (7 – 10) to participate in this outdoor informal networking/promotional activity. 

Booth Set-up for All Recruiters

  • Time: Wednesday, October 01, 2008 – 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM (Career Fair) – Blackburn University Center Ballroom, Hilltop Lounge, and Lobby.

!!!NEW TWO-DAY FORMAT!!!

Last year we introduced a new format for the Career Fair and the Graduate & Professional Schools Recruitment Fair, offering employers and graduate school recruiters the option to choose to participate on one of two days or to participate on both days to maximize recruitment efforts.  This format was well received and will be repeated again this year.

Graduate & Professional Schools Day (Graduate School Recruitment)

  • Dates: Wednesday, October 01, & Thursday, October 02, 2008 – Recruiters have the option to register for one day (either Wednesday or Thursday) or for both days.
  • Time: 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM. (booth set up Wednesday, October 01, or Thursday, October 02, 2008 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM).
  • Location: Blackburn University Center – Ballroom, Hilltop Lounge and Lobby.

Career Fair (Employment Opportunities)

  • Dates: Wednesday, October 01, & Thursday, October 02, 2008 – Recruiters have the option to register for one day (either Wednesday or Thursday) or for both days.
  • Time: 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM (booth set up Wednesday, October 03, or Thursday, October 4, 2008 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM).
  • Location: Blackburn University Center – Ballroom, Hilltop Lounge and Lobby.

REMINDER - The two recruitment fairs are running concurrently – This is a change to the usual format.

  • Fees will include continental breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks for a maximum of two (2) recruiters per booth purchase.  Additional meals may be purchased at $10.00 per recruiter at the time of registration on-line.
  • Reservation is on a first come, first serve basis.
  • Registration and Payment deadline is September 24, 2008.
  • Absolutely no refunds after September 24, 2008

Cancellation & No-Show Policy

  • Cancellation must be submitted in writing to Dr. Joan M. Browne at jmbrownecareers@gmail.com.  Emailed notification will suffice. Paid registrants who cancel after September 24 will not receive a refund.  Fees will be credited to the 2009 event.
  • No-Shows on the day of the event will be considered an inappropriate cancellation.  These employers or academic institutions will be invoiced and held accountable for honoring payment for the spaces reserved.

Fees are to be paid by check, credit card, or money order.

 

 BOOTH SPECIFICATIONS

  • Each draped booth space will be 8’ wide x 6’ deep. In each booth there will be one (1) table; two (2) chairs; One (1) wastebasket; and one (1) company ID sign.  If your display is larger than 8’x 6’ you will need to purchase an additional booth space.  Relocations on the day of the event due to display size will not be possible.
  • Employers/Recruiters may reserve a maximum of three booths.
  • Dismantling of displays may begin at 4:15 PM on respective days.

General parking for all career fair and GAPS fair patrons will be at the parking lot of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, located on the corner of Harewood Avenue, NE and 400 Michigan Avenue, NE, Washington DC 20017-1566.  For detailed parking instructions, and to print your parking permits for these events, please click on the appropriate link below.

21st Century Expo Group, Inc. has been selected to handle shipped materials and displays for the week’s events.  For detailed shipping instructions, please click the appropriate link below: 

**NOTE: No literature or displays should be sent to the “Career Services Office.”  Displays and company literature should be addressed according to the shipping instructions which will be communicated to you via email and on the CSO website as soon as that information is available.   It is advised that you pay attention to shipping instructions to avoid the possibility of late or incorrect delivery.
