Career Services Jobs/Internships Program

Jobs

There are many paths to take when looking for a job at CSO. Our Staff is available to help you find which path is best for you. We receive and post hundreds of job/internships listings weekly in our job binders in the Career Resources Library. We also have HU MonsterTRAK (the online Howard University Career Center where users can find jobs, sign up for interviews and learn more about the companies coming to campus). You may also want to review our Career Links that provide multiple online links to some of the top job search websites on the internet.

Internships

The internship program coordinated by the Career Services Office has been developed to assist students with the career decision-making process during matriculation at Howard University. Internships, also referred to as work-based learning, provide the opportunity for students to apply knowledge gained in the classroom to real-life work experiences that will assist with the careful selection of a viable profession upon graduation.

Hundreds of fall, spring, and summer internship opportunities, listed and updated daily in the Career Resources Library, are available to any student currently enrolled at Howard University in good academic standing (at least a 2.50 GPA). Because the career selection process can be complex and engaging, students are encouraged to participate in the internship program from as early as the summer following their freshman year. Participating from this early provides at least three work-based learning experiences that will significantly increase your confidence in making career choice.

To qualify for the job/internship program students are required to:

Register with the Career Services Office (CSO)
Complete the Internship Datasheet (PDF format - print and fill out)
Schedule an appointment with the internship program coordinator, or Attend an Internship Orientation Workshop
