Alumni Achievement Awards

The Howard University Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award was established in 1943 to recognize alumni who have attained outstanding success and national or international distinction in their chosen business, profession or life's work, and whose accomplishments reflect admirably on or bring honor to the university.

Candidates for the awards are nominated annually by alumni, students, faculty, and friends of the University. Once the nomination period is closed, the nominees are reviewed by a University committee that includes alumni representatives. Final selections are approved by the University‘s Boards of Trustees, and awards are presented during the Charter Day Dinner gala.

Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award nominations are closed for 2016.
