Fall Open House is perfect for any student who wants to learn what it takes to become a part of the rich legacy and tradition of Howard University. You will have the opportunity to interact with students, faculty, and staff, as well as tour our beautiful hilltop campus. There are a plethora of dining options conveniently located within to Howard University’s campus. Georgia Avenue, historic U Street, Adams Morgan, and Downtown D.C. offer a variety of local and international cuisines. The hardest part is choosing where to go!
For those interested in purchasing official HU merchandise, the Howard University Bookstore, aka “The HUB,” will be open during Open House. If you want to widen your shopping experience, there are also several shopping centers nearby in Georgetown, Pentagon City, and Chevy Chase, just to name a few.
The month of October is a great time to visit Washington D.C. Summer’s humid afternoons are gone, leaving sunny and comfortable days to tour some of the District’s world-class attractions. If you are planning to stay in the area for the weekend, take the opportunity to walk through Georgetown, attend a show or concert at the Kennedy Center, hike at Great Falls Park, explore Mount Vernon, be amazed at the International Spy Museum, or visit national monuments like the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Lincoln Memorials!
