Donor Based Scholarships

The Donor Scholarship Application will be made available online at www.howard.edu/financialaid/download.htm from April 1, 2009 until April 8, 2009.

Applications may only be retrieved online. Paper applications will no longer be made available in the Office of Financial Aid. Completed applications may be submitted in Suite 205 of the Administration building or via facsimile to (202) 806-2818. Students should plan to drop-off only completed applications. Due to space limitations, students will not be allowed to pick-up or complete applications on-site. Incoming new students for the Fall 2009 will be automatically considered for Donor scholarships and do not need to submit an application.

Donor scholarships are funds donated to the University from its generous benefactors. These scholarships vary by criteria and award amount. All applicants will be notified, via e-mail and BisonWeb, of the status of their application in mid- August.

A limited number of private scholarships are available each year. These awards are primarily based on need and academic achievement, but may include other criteria as established by the donor (i.e., field of study, state of residence and classification). Applications are accepted in the spring semester prior to the academic year in which the funds will be awarded.

Following is a listing of the donor based scholarships at the University.
