Thank you for your interest in the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program at Howard University Hospital. The Division of Cardiology, the largest section in the Department of Medicine, offers a comprehensive cardiovascular diagnostic and treatment program by board-certified cardiologists. It also offers a cardiac rehabilitation program and a preventive cardiology program aimed at improving the functional impact of the effects of heart diseases.

State-of-the-art equipment is available for a range of invasive and noninvasive procedures in cardiology. Invasive procedures include transesophageal echocardiography, right and left heart catheterization, PTCA and stenting, myocardial biopsy, electrophysiology study and ablation, pericardiocentesis and insertion of counter-pulsation balloon catheters. Noninvasive procedures include transthoracic echocardiography, myocardial perfusion imaging, exercise stress testing and cardiac CT angiography.
