Journal articles are significant
resources for research in architecture-related subjects. They contain
current information, in brief, and in some cases they are the only
source of information on a particular architect or building.
Indexes are the primary tools used in locating articles of a particular subject. Indexes survey hundreds of journals within a subject area, and metafile individual articles by various access points such as author, title, subject, journal title, and keyword. To locate the actual article within a journal, you will need the full citation listed in the index. The full citation comprises of the complete journal title, author, volume number, issue date, and page number. Use the Journal Handbook to view sample citation diagrams from various indexes and check title listing to see if the library has the journal.
