They Move

With the calloused soles of
their large feet pounding the earth,
They move…
Freedom, like the sap from an Aloe Vera plant, soothes the pain.
With the sun’s intense, amber rays toasting their ebony skin,
Still they move…
Freedom is a canopy formed from Mother Nature’s finest trees.
With sweat dripping from under their bandanas and rolling down their
faces,
Still they move…
Freedom is a cool, moist breeze that revives the body upon contact.
With exhaustion steadily pressing on their backs and weakening their
bones,
Still they move…
Freedom is the soft grass of an open plain that fits the body’s contours
perfectly.
With merciless fear infiltrating their minds and causing their muscles
to tighten,
Still they move…
Freedom is the warm, gentle embrace of a mother whose heartbeat calms
all.
