AN ANTHOLOGY OF VERSE AND
PROSE
Technological
Destruction
Andrew Bernard As the knowledge of humans continues to rise
New ideas and technologies are developed which will lead us to our own demise
If technology has come so far that animals can be cloned
There won’t be much time before humans can be designed and grown without the nurturing of a woman’s womb
These ideas and technologies are frightening to me
Man having the ability to create man is something I never want to hear about or see
The situation is like the tower of Babylon in biblical times but it’s the 21st century
It’s a reoccurrence of what God did not want to happen when he decided how man would be
When God saw his people trying to build themselves up so they could be as high and mighty as him
He changed their languages and destroyed their tower to punish them for their sin
Nowadays man is tampering with the power of the Creator
By recreating the human brain and preserving vital organs of dead people to use them in surgeries later
Man is advancing too fast and gaining too much power and control over life
The ethics involved in “improving” humankind are not right
Although some technological advances have “improved” many people’s lives
Finding the cure to Aids, Alzheimer’s, and Cancer will be useless if humans can no longer survive
In a world contaminated with radiation, disease and pollution:
The problems man created in his attempts to find and develop other solutions
The way things are going the end of the world must be drawing near
New advancements in technology are changing the way we live everyday, month and year
Advances that are supposed to make the world a better place:
New gadgets, gizmos, and robots that will replace the human race
Man is growing dependent on technology as a necessity and way of life
This dependency will eventually hinder mankind from functioning and rob them of their human rights
Soon there won’t be a reason to work nor will there be a need to think
If robots can be programmed to think, feel, and act like people then humans will eventually become extinct.
