AN ANTHOLOGY OF VERSE AND PROSE

BrokenHeart
Yuvay Meyers

A broken heart,
So hard to heal.
Once elevated up in endless rapture,
Only to be lowered to a state of solemnity.
Thinking of the love that was promised forever 
Makes my heart call out in anguish.
Now, I only feel pain in my solitude.
I feel my soul weep when I want to smile.
How can I ever love again?
A love that is not guaranteed
Will I be the next man’s pawn?
A simple game involving my emotions.
My faith in the power of love forever ravished.
Moving on made more wearisome then ever before.
I say a prayer to relieve the burden of my agony,
But I know that only time will heal my wounds
