Perplexity
By
Carla-Marie Ulerie
This maze that is me.
A wave of emotions
emerges from the deep recesses of my soul
Awakening a joy, a pain,
A confusion conflicting with the calmness
that is me.
I am, I was, but I may never be –
Never be free to express my deepest,
darkest passions,
Arouse my senses, explore my sensibility.
I am prejudiced against my own thoughts
For sometimes, they paralyze me;
They cripple my creativity.
So I break the cast
and allow my mind to heal,
To solve the labyrinth
That is me.
