Now that you have looked at Washington, D.C. through different lenses, you are invited to share your new insights about the character of our city. Please construct a web page depicting some noteworthy aspect of the nation's capital. You may focus on a building or on a person or group.

• Name of building and how it got its name
• Location (street, neighborhood, ward #)
• Purpose of the building
• Significant events occurring there in the past or presently
• Famous persons connected with the building
  [Example, you could make a presentation about the DAR Constitution Hall and contrast Marion Anderson's experience with other singers who have sung there. Or, you could discuss Lincoln Park and the two statues erected thereon. Or, you could write about your school.]

If you focus on the contributions of a particular person or group, include:

• Name(s)
• Date and place of birth
• Ancestry
• Neighborhood and/or ward of schools attended, if known
• Neighborhood and/or ward of where he or she lives
• Colleges Attended
• Occupation
• Major Contributions
• Landmarks named for the person
  

If you elect to prepare an autobiographical web page, indicate your college and career plans. Also, describe a building that is meaningful to you. Your report is due by 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, 1998.
