Twentieth Century Fine Art Collection

Red Grooms, Mel Hunter, Juliane Seraphim, Richard Lindner, James Rosenquist, and Gene Davis are but a few of the names of 20th century artists who form the prints, paintings, and tapestry collections. Representing a variety of the "isms" and stylistic directions of this century, these works, particularly the prints, expand the Gumbel collection in this medium. Of special interest is the set of 14 wall hangings designed by Alexander Calder. Measuring approximately 5 ft. wide by 7 ft. high of hand-woven maguey fiber, they extend the opportunities for study by students and scholars of twentieth century expressions.
