Pop Pop's Lilies
Joi Brown
Lansdale, Pennsylvania - Biology/Pre-Med

I sat by the Lord in a field of lilies,
I asked him,
“Why take the blossoms but leave the memories?”
He took me in his arms and told me,
“When it gets hard and you think you can no longer believe,
Look up to the sky and listen to the breeze.”

I am always with you,
I am always there,
I will always love you,
And Princess--remember, I will always care.

We sat for a minute reflecting on every bloom.
It was hard to stand it,
So He comforted my impeding gloom.
He told me, “You will make it,
But if you feel you can’t believe,
Look up to the sky and listen to the breeze.”

I am always with you,
I am always there,
I will always love you,
And Princess--remember, I will always care
