You Didn't
Candice Jackson
Atlanta, Georgia - International Business

You didnít have to care for me,
But if you didnít where would I be?
You didnít have to stay by my side,
But you did, and now I have someone
In whom I can confide.
You didnít have to tell me you loved me,
But if you didnít, love would have no meaning for me.
You didnít have to open your heart,
But you did and now Iím inside and can never depart.
You didnít have to listen to me when I was in pain,
But you did, and now of my pain I am not ashamed.
You didnít have to be that shoulder for me to cry on,
But you were and now Iíve grown strong.
You didnít have to do or be a lot of things,
But you did and you were.
That is what I will always be thankful for.
