Faces & Voices IV
AN ANTHOLOGY OF VERSE AND PROSE

Generation Nil
Tiara Wilkinson

No war
To fight
No score
To settle
No injustice
To right
No complacency
To meddle
So we sit
And we learn
Of how to earn
And succeed
So we play
And we wait
For that later date
When we'll bleed
Cause we don't have
What we need
Our insides are hollow
We've had no pills to swallow
So we stay shallow
And our ground fallow
No togetherness
No unity
No camaraderie
It's just you-
Then me
We're separated into factions
Dealing with our own infractions
Uncaring to the pain
Of those closest to us
We refuse to infringe
So we stay on our end
Wondering why the pieces
Won't come together
Sad it may be
But a tragedy
May be the only remedy
To bind us together
And finally set us
Free.
