From sunrise to sunset I think of nothing but you,
Every word every touch invades my thoughts
Against my will.
I want so much to believe everything you say,
That words so profound must be true,
That I can trust you.
But instead I tell you that we can never be together,
That we can only be friends and nothing more,
And I pretend not to care.
Though you don't hear the words from my lips,
You continue to hold on, hoping and waiting in vain,
As I contain my love and silent pain.
And I wish that one day I’ll be able to say
Those words that have been long on my mind.
So I can tell you how I feel.
'Til that day, I pray that you’ll never despair,
And despite my selfishness, wait for me
To open up to you without any fear.
