My First Love
By Terilyn Dumas
The day we met
I shall never forget
The way you walked
Your smile as I entered your view
Words that poured from your mouth
I could have moved away
But something made me stay
Maybe it was the look in your eyes
Or the sensation as our hands touched
What was IT that restrained me?
I donít recall and neither do I care
IT changed my life on that day
Even if you don't remain
Forever will my life not be the same
I see stars whose sparkles never caught my attention
Until this day, a smile adorns my face whenever you are
Everyday that we're apart
It seems your love captures more of my heart
Memories are all I have for comfort
But, to have loved.
