Go-Girls: Smart Search Tips for finding what you need on the Internet

Goal and Objective:
To introduce the Go-Girls participants to a wealth of online resources for homework and career planning.

At the end of this session, students will be able to:

• develop and use successful strategies for locating information through online catalogs (e.g., CityCat at DC Public Library) and Internet search engines
• construct successful searches in an article database like EbscoHost Primary Search  
• interpret the elements (parts) of the citations retrieved through the search
• evaluate items retrieved and select information appropriate to a given problem or question
