In the Beginning of Her Life

Whitney Houston was born on August 9,1963 in Newark, New Jersey. By the age eleven (11), She was singing solos in front of hundreds of people. By Mid-teens, she was a backup singer for Chaka Khan and Lou Rawls. She soon began modleing for Seventeen and Glamour magazines. then she stopped because she wanted to go to full-time singing. Her first album was produced in 1985. It was entitled Whitney Houston. In 1989 Whitney established a Whitney Houston Foundation for children, Inc. (a non-profit organization).
