The Howard University Libraries offer course-integrated library instruction that focuses on the research skills needed for class assignments and projects. We have found that students are more motivated if the library session is directed towards a specific assignment and if the instructor is present during the library visit.
We can tailor the session to your subject area and include any of the following:
- Developing effective strategies for finding information and documenting the sources found,
- Identifying and accessing relevant databases and other information resources,
- Evaluating retrieved information (e.g., popular vs. scholarly articles and library data bases vs. Web sites), and
- Searching the online catalog, ALADIN.
