Dr. Stephen Henderson once described the writing of Black women writers as being "The revolution within the revolution." The work of Nikki Giovanni, Mari Evans and Lucille Clifton did more than change America 's literary landscape; their work changed our political, social and cultural structures. These women are not just writers, they are institutions.
