Annual Report 2003 VI. GRANTEE CONTRIBUTION TO PROJECT Over Phases I & II of the WBHR-LSAMP Program, there has been considerable cost-sharing amounting to more than a 2:1 ratio for all of the WBHR-LSAMP institutions (Appendix F). For example, during both Phases I & II, no support has been provided for the faculty mentors. Nominal support for research supplies has been provided to mentors requesting such support and the indirect cost rate of 8 percent or the educational training rate rather than the negotiated indirect costs for each of the institutions has been used for the budget. This has meant that more than 80 percent of the WBHR-LSAMP funds received from NSF have gone directly to student support activities. However, support for the administrative staff at the lead institution as well as the data analysts at each member institution within the WBHR-LSAMP Alliance have been provided. More than 80 percent of the NSF funds have gone directly to student participant-cost as stipends. |
